BIO

Son of the Skies is a crafter of songs, teller of stories and weaver of heart. His audio visual art draws upon the influence of artists like Ben Howard, Jeff Buckley and Syd Arthur and invites you into a world of uniquely-blended music, offering a deeper contemplation on life.

Having grown up in a world where innocence wasn’t safe to express, Son of the Skies tenderly touches upon the darker aspects of humanity. Heavy lyrics meet light, joyful melodies to reflect the shadow and light of this world and the many ironic ways that the smiles and struggle dance together. Vulnerability sits at the heart of his songs as he pours his own life into every moment - a true gift to us all.

Son of the Skies grew up in Brighton, a colourful melting pot of creatives and musos, expressing the shadow and light with equal conviction. There he picked up a guitar for the first time, age nine, and drenched himself in a sound-scape of musical inspiration. By nineteen he studied a music degree at BIMM Brighton and went on to play with The Slytones, for ten years.

For years Son of the Skies’ solo songs have erupted from the path he has walked - an adventure which has seen him journey to Johannesburg, South Africa in pursuit of artist development and to craft new visual content. His personal music is now making its way to the wider world, to bow to the unlimited possibilities, the infinite expansion and the power we have as humans to meet and move life in remarkable ways.

Son of the Skies’ debut single, ‘Sweetest Song’ from forthcoming EP ‘Fateful Sky' is set for release on April 2nd 2021.
